November 30, 2025
Good morning,
We are blessed with some good winter weather early in the season, and with how fickle our weather can be, we need to embrace it and take advantage of it. It also looks like there's a possible storm on the way this week that we'll be watching.
This is the last week of optional open workouts, so if you've been enjoying some time off after school, next week may hit you pretty hard. We've got workouts planned every day this week, check the calendar for details. For now, we'll be at the high school.
With the advent of snow on the ground, we're done roller skiing for the season, so if you need to switch ferrules on your poles, please do so this week.
Also, if you have some team roller skis, please return them as soon as possible.
The trailer will be at the high school in the parking lot by the barn this week, we have some things to put into storage, and the combination for the lock is in the email version. Towards the end of the week you may want to drop off your ski bags into the trailer. Next Monday, December 8, it will be at Proctor ski area.
A reminder to have healthy snacks for after school/before practice so you have the necessary energy for the workouts. Nordic skiing is a pretty intense activity and everyone needs to have enough fuel for the day.
Also, our practices at Proctor will begin promptly at 4:00 and go until 5:30 pm. Please, please, be outside and ready to go at 4:00 pm
This week at the high school:
Monday: distance with speeds, probably be running for this one.
Tuesday: Intervals, 5x2, 3 sets with warm up and cool down
Wednesday: Classic technique, hoping we're on some snow... If you have old classic skis, bring them.
Thursday: distance L1, 75 minutes without stopping
Friday: Intervals, 5x2:30, 3 sets with fun and games afterward
That's all for now.
